Whether working on canvas or paper, I think of myself as a watercolorist. The transparent and opaque flexibility of water-base media and their capacity for wash flow, allows me to work freely from a representational to an abstract imagery. The depth and extreme variations of light that they afford excite and challenge me. I can work from very small to very large.
